Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Strength & Conditioning
Northern Illinois University (NIU) is accepting applications for the position of Director of Olympic Sports Performance. This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits. The Director of Olympic Sports Performance will, in conjunction with coaches and athletic trainers, organize and design strength, power, speed, agility and flexibility programs for assigned sports as well as maintain safety, hygiene, and efficiency of the NIU Athletics strength and conditioning center; create and supervise schedules and team workouts; and perform administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director of Sports Performance.
• Bachelor’s Degree; • CSCCa or CSCS certification required; • Two academic years’ experience in collegiate strength and conditioning; • Ability to demonstrate weight training skills, conditioning strategies plus teaching progressions; • Ability to communicate with and relate well to the student-athlete and sport coaches; • Ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and electronic forms.
