Assists in the administration of the ASC athletic training program within the guidelines of federal, state and local law and department, division and college policies and procedures, and in a manner consistent with the mission of Agnes Scott College and the goals of the Agnes Scott Athletic Department. Demonstrates a strong commitment to the success of the student-athletes by providing holistic prevention, treatment and overall care. Reports to the head athletic trainer and works with student athletes, students, athletic department staff, and other Agnes Scott College staff and faculty.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists development of the overall athletic training program for Agnes Scott College, including injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student-athletes. Assists with leadership in the planning and operation of the athletic training program. Administers to the needs of various teams within the policies and guidelines of the Agnes Scott College, NATA, USA South Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division III. Assists with the coordination of documentation, filing, and maintenance of all medical related records. Assists with organizing and facilitating all daily operations related to Athletic Training. Adheres to operating and equipment budgets as established by the athletics department. Establishes effective interpersonal relations with coaches, players, administrators, students, local medical personnel, and the public. Works cooperatively with the Wellness Center to respond to and address the mental health and medical needs of student athletes. Assists in the supervision and evaluation of graduate assistant and student assistants, as necessitated. Assists with the scheduling for coverage of all team practices and athletic competitions. Enforces athletic training room rules. Evaluates and reviews the program and recommend changes and improvements to the Head Athletic Trainer. Ensures compliance with all Agnes Scott, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics. Participates in designated staff functions including job related in-service training.

Education:Bachelor's degree from a CAATE accredited program required; Masters preferred in related occupational field of study. Experience:Preferred two years of college-level athletic training experience. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Possession of NATABOC Athletic Trainer Certification
Considerable knowledge of sports, athletic training, coaching methods, and NATA/NCAA rules and regulations.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong commitment to the success of the student-athletes by providing holistic prevention, treatment and overall care.
Strong computer skills in a Windows-based environment (Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), including at least intermediate level word processing and spreadsheet development.
Ability to work with diverse populations, as part of a team, and collaborate with others.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, to maintain confidentiality, and to supervise others.
Ability and desire to meet the irregular hours and travel schedule required by the position.
Irregular hours, outside work, and travel from office to other locations are required on a regular basis.
(CPR) and First Aid certification.
Georgia State Licensure or eligible
Possession of a valid driver's license
