Job Description: A.POSITION PURPOSE This position is primarily responsible for managing the marketing, promotions and game day experience for the Athletic Department intercollegiate athletics teams.
B.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Gameday Promotions
Lead the development and implementation of annual marketing and promotional plans for assigned sports.
Assist with the development and implementation of the annual marketing and promotional plan for men's basketball.
Technical director and gameday producer for assigned sports as needed.
Schedule and coordinate all pregame events including but not limited to National Anthem singer, honorary coach introductions, senior night. Assist with scheduling and coordinating halftime entertainment at select events.
Schedule and coordinate all in-game entertainment including music, special events, giveaways, and interactive fan contests.
Assist with coordination of administration of website updates, social media calendar content, game day public address scripts, game day timing protocol, special honor/recognition ceremonies.
2. Student Group Coordination
Assist the Assistant AD of External Relations with oversight of the SCU spirit groups i.e. Pep Band, Dance Team, Mascot and the Wranglers (in-game promotions team).
Lead the travel coordination to the WCC Tournament and other postseason appearances.
Represent Santa Clara University at WCC meetings regarding spirit groups.
Be the on-site representative of the spirit groups at major events (WCC Championships, NCAA Championships).
Lead sales efforts for Ruff Riders memberships during orientations and other student events.
Oversee and manage the social media accounts, weekly emails, and the student rewards app for the Ruff Riders student membership group.
3. General Administration
Hire, train and schedule gameday student support staff.
Hire and manage graphic design interns to create marketing collateral for both print and digital.
Responsible for the management and growth of Bucky's Kids Club.
4. Other Duties as Assigned
As a member of the administrative team in the Athletic Department, the Manager collaborates with coaches and senior staff to ensure a broad-based promotions and community outreach program.
Be aware of and abide by all NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
C. PROVIDES WORK DIRECTION 1. Supervision and direction to SCU spirit groups.
2. Hiring, supervision, direction and feedback to student interns.
D. GENERAL GUIDELINES Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services. Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices. Maintains contact with customers and solicits feedback for improved services. Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives. Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow. Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions. Prepares and submits reports as requested and required. Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the unit.

Ability to work effectively with external constituents, particularly donors and corporate sponsors.
Capable of working both independently and as a team member; results oriented; self-starter.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Bachelor's degree required.
5. Years of Experience
One to three years of progressively responsible administrative/marketing experienced preferred.
