Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Women’s Basketball Coach (HWBBC) is responsible for supervising, coordinating and managing all aspects of the women’s intercollegiate basketball team. The HWBBC will also serve as the department compliance officer, be responsible for other administrative duties to help effectively run the athletic department, and supervise all assistant women’s basketball coaches. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.
The HWBBC is expected to support and enhance Bryn Athyn College (BAC) Athletics, and build a program that fosters commitment, sportsmanship, and charity. BAC is a NCAA Division III member, as well as a full member in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC).
Duties and responsibilities include:
Knowledge and passion for the sport of basketball; Ability to lead, motivate and communicate with student athletes; Commitment and dedication to academic success; Strong organizational and developmental skills; Ability to work with a diverse population; Ability to conduct practices and manage game strategy; Organize recruiting materials and identify potential prospects; Develop recruiting strategy and maintain contact with recruits; Develop a conditioning program along with practices; Collaborate with the Director of Athletics to organize and administer team equipment purchases and distribution/collection; Meet with players during the season and conduct post season interviews; Maintain accurate record keeping and transparency within the program; Knowledge of NCAA Division III and CSAC rules and regulations; Serve as compliance officer for 13 NCAA Division III varsity sports; Game-day management for assigned varsity sports; Assistance with equipment ordering for all field sports; Additional duties as assigned and reassessed by the Director of Athletics
Criteria & Qualifications
Previous coaching experience in a NCAA school
Demonstrated successful record as a coach
Demonstrated success in recruiting student-athletes
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
NCAA compliance experience
Team focused and interest in working in a highly collaborative environment
Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively under pressure
Proven ability to manage multiple, complex tasks independently
Evening/weekend work required including travel
Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle required
