JOB DESCRIPTION Centre College invites qualified applicants for the full-time position of Head Cheer and Stunt Coach / Marketing Coordinator. Reporting to the Associate Director of Athletics, this position leads all aspects of building a competitive, co-ed cheer and stunt program, including but not limited to: identifying and recruiting successful student-athletes, skill development during practices and competitions, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, building a positive and cohesive team culture, and other duties as assigned. Additionally, this individual will lead our marketing efforts and community outreach program.
This position requires compliance with all NCAA, UCA/NCA, SAA, and Centre College rules and regulations and to be mindful of the College’s core values of diversity and inclusion.
Bachelor’s degree required. Previous cheer experience as either a participant or a coach. A commitment to the Division III philosophy; knowledge of NCAA, UCA/NCA, and SAA rules; and a demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are essential. Additional qualifications include communication skills that allow for the ability to teach, motivate, and counsel student-athletes effectively as well as being self-motivated, positive, energetic, eager to teach, and a willingness to travel. Ability to work successfully within a team-oriented athletic department is essential.
