Position Summary and Responsibilities Vassar College invites applications for the position of Head Women's Basketball Coach. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty, benefit-eligible ten-month position. Weekend, holiday, early morning and/or late evening hours are required.
The successful candidate will serve as the head coach in all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III women's basketball program including, but not limited to:
The recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes;
Game strategies and competitive coaching,
On-court instruction for practices and games,
Player and team development,
Fundraising and community service,
Additional duties in the department (i.e.: teaching, facilities or game management).
Vassar College athletics programs are conducted in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations of Vassar College, the NCAA and the Liberty League.
Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in a related field preferred;
Coaching experience at the collegiate level required, a minimum of three to five years coaching experience with demonstrated success as an assistant or head coach at the collegiate level preferred;
Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid is mandatory and can be obtained through Vassar College as needed;
Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain student-athletes who are committed to academic and athletic excellence preferred;
Experience with fundraising and/or alumni relations preferred;
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills;
A valid driver's license, official academic transcript(s) and the successful result of a background check are mandatory.
