Under the supervision of the Associate Athletics Director/Academics & Compliance, this position leads the day-to-day operations of the Student-Athlete Academic Support Services (SAASS) unit.
Duties: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SAASS unit.Maintain integrity of the Academic Support Services Office with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and on-campus faculty and staff. Establish policies and procedures aimed at providing consistent service to student-athletes and coaches. Train and lead team of academic coordinators. Work with Director of Learning Services to identify at-risk student-athletes and recommend appropriate support services. Oversee student-athlete orientation and the summer bridge program. Maintain positive working relationships with university faculty and staff. Serve as Athletics representative on University committees, as requested. Serve as academic coordinator for assigned sports. Monitor progress in all courses and track degree-completion status. Provide regular updates of student-athlete academic status to coaches and administrators. Mentor student-athletes one-on-one, where necessary. Meet with recruits for assigned sports, as requested. Serve as initial and continuing eligibility lead. Lead a team comprised of the University Registrar, academic coordinators, and compliance staff to certify eligibility each semester. Evaluate transfer eligibility.

Minimum Qualifications -
• Bachelor’s degree • Minimum of two years working in collegiate athletics • Academic advising experience • Substantial knowledge of and experience in eligibility certification • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends, when necessary
Desired Qualifications -
• Master’s Degree • Experience working with Native Banner/Bannerweb, NCAA data submissions, Degree Audit Reporting Systems (DARS)
