Conference Carolinas seeks applications for two (2) Assistant Commissioners to assist with the strategic leadership of Conference Carolinas. One Assistant Commissioner will likely have a primary focus on the conference’s sports information, video, marketing, branding, and sponsorship initiatives. The other Assistant Commissioner will likely have a primary focus in the areas of compliance, NCAA reporting, and student-athlete leadership/development. The individuals will work directly with various constituents throughout the conference to ensure all actions align with the core values of the conference and its mission, vision and strategic plan. The assistant commissioners work under the direct supervision of the commissioner. Because the positions are being hired concurrently, exact job descriptions and titles will be determined after candidates are identified. Both positions are full-time, exempt position with health insurance and retirement benefits.
Assistant Commissioner Duties and Responsibilities: The delineation of job duties and assignments will be determined once candidates are identified as both positions are being hired concurrently. However, it is expected that the combined duties of the Assistant Commissioners will include, but not be limited to:
Marketing / Branding
Compliance / NLI Administration
NCAA grant administration
Evaluation of medical hardship waivers
It is expected that the Assistant Commissioners will represent the conference at certain meetings, functions and appointments as needed.

The successful candidate should have at least 1-3 years of collegiate athletics experience, either as a full-time employee or a year-long intern/graduate assistant. A bachelor’s degree is required and advanced degree is preferred. The individual will possess strong verbal, written and online communication skills. The ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure is essential for success. Travel and some night and weekend work is required.
