This is a senior level leadership position responsible for supporting, developing, managing, and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies that promote and foster an open and inclusive environment. Areas of accountability will include advocacy, education, and compliance related to diversity, inclusion and equity at Arizona Athletics. The Assistant AD of Diversity, Inclusion and Employee Engagement will work collaboratively with the University’s Department of Equity, Inclusion & Title IX, and the University’s Human Resources Department.

•In collaboration with the Sr. Associate AD of Human Resources, oversee the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion strategies related to recruitment, performance management, leadership development, employee engagement, training and employee retention. •Lead search processes to encourage and embrace diversity, inclusion and equity during hiring processes. •Provides strategic direction for training, professional development and professional speaker initiatives on cultural competency to build and sustain a climate of equity and inclusion. •Development and participation in various employee resource groups to include playing a key role in Arizona Athletic’s Inclusive Excellence Council from a programming, planning, and strategy standpoint. •Partner with and participation in internal and external resource groups, events, and initiatives to include supporting Life Skills, campus diversity councils, and event programming (for students and employees). •In collaboration with the Sr. Associate AD of Human Resources and campus partners, oversee compliance with Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Title IX and other applicable regulations. •Analyze and make recommendations on strategic initiatives, personnel decisions, and budget decisions related to human resources, diversity, inclusion, equity, and employee engagement. •Analyze and advance internal processes related to diversity, inclusion and equity. •Identify, build and sustain community partnerships to support diversity and inclusion at Arizona Athletics. •Network with NCAA, PAC-12, and other professional organizations related to growing and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion goals and initiatives.
• Bachelor’s Degree • Five years of professional level work experience in higher education • Professional experience to include advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in a higher education setting • Experience working in college athletics, preferably at the Division I level • Demonstrated experience and commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals, constituencies, and communities • Exceptional interpersonal skills • Familiarity with Title IX • Supervisory experience • Experience leading search processes and employee recruitment
