Michigan Tech’s Counseling Services and Athletics Departments are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience and vision to serve as the Director of Student-Athlete Wellness andClinical Counselor. This person would be an in-house therapist to counsel athletes in balancing mind, body, and sport for optimal mental health and well-being. In addition to serving individuals, the Director will serve as a liaison to other campus partners and stakeholders, and play a key role in helping to identify and break down the stigmas and the barriers currently impeding student-athletes from seeking the help they need to reach their full potential as a college student-athlete.
A Master’s degree in an appropriately accredited mental health training program (social work, mental health counseling, psychology, etc.) and an appropriate mental health licensure, certification or documentation of eligibility to practice in the state of Michigan is required.
