Reporting to the Sr. Associate AD, Chief of Staff, the Associate Athletics Director, Video Production will oversee all video production and event broadcasts for Temple University Athletics including, but not limited to live and on-demand event streaming of games, press conferences, and special events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: producing live multi-camera broadcasts while ensuring all broadcasts fulfill conference regulations and production standards; manage relationships with external broadcast partners such as ESPN+; provide specialty content for video boards, coaches shows, and television ads; writing production scripts; hiring, training, supervising and scheduling of full-time staff, student workers and outside talent; overseeing and scheduling the streaming of all home athletic events; maintaining all video equipment as well as recommending new video equipment as needed; handling all media, institution and internal requests for footage; and coordinating video archives for each sport. Further, the position is responsible driving continuous process improvement in video and broadcast production, adopting new technologies as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years’ progressive experience working in video production, broadcast production and/or streaming media. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Comprehensive understanding of all aspects related to video production on the ESPN+ platform.
Knowledge of various post production tools and live production set-up, equipment and software.
Ability to understand departmental video production needs, recruit qualified candidates and effectively manage a variety of team members in order to provide high-quality broadcast content.
Build video board creative content for Temple Athletics home contests consistent with current branding and messaging.
Interact with a wide variety of internal and external individuals to navigate the variety of challenges involved in producing content for all sports on ESPN+.
Creatively utilize game broadcasts to present content that will communicate the department’s strategic initiatives and objectives and, ultimately, enhance the University’s mission.
Work with coaches and senior level administration to determine a schedule of broadcasts.
Ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules.
