MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST IN BOSTON, MA: The director of athletics provides leadership and vision in the development and execution of College athletics programs, embracing the Division III philosophy that balances athletics participation and success with academic achievement. The director is responsible for the administration and management of all aspects of the intercollegiate athletics, club sports, and physical education programs in a manner consistent with Principia’s mission, policies, and procedures. This includes oversight of the academic progress of student-athletes; collaboration with Admissions and Recruiting to enhance recruitment and retention of student-athletes; responsibility for compliance with College, NCAA, and conference regulations; direction and evaluation of all athletics program personnel; budget development and oversight; and cultivation of alumni support. The director of athletics is a member of the College president’s Senior Leadership Team and may serve as the president’s deputy as necessary.
• Active (or pending) membership in The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and/or in a Journal-listed branch church or society of The First Church of Christ, Scientist • Christian Science class instruction preferred but not required • Master’s degree • Administrative experience in the field of athletics • Previous college coaching experience preferred • Member of professional athletics associations preferred
