Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I institution, member of the Missouri Valley Conference invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Compliance & Student Services within the Department of Athletics. This pre-professional, 12-month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of $1,224 per month. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State's Graduate School and be prepared to begin working May 2019. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting coaches with the completion of the department’s academic review process; serving as a liaison to the NCAA Eligibility Center; collection of coaches’ recruiting and countable athletic activity logs; and other duties as assigned.
As a part of your responsibilities, you will follow the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Football conference, the Athletics Department and Illinois State University.
Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree; eligibility for appointment per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook; graduate student at Illinois State University majoring in Sports Management.
Preferred qualifications include: an interest in NCAA Compliance topics; demonstrated commitment to integrity; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to work independently while performing accurate, detail-oriented work.
