Catawba College, a NCAA Division II Institution, member of the South Atlantic Conference, seeks applicants for the position of a Full-Time (10 month) Director of Women’s Volleyball/Head Women's Indoor Volleyball Coach. The Director of Women's Volleyball reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for managing all aspects of the women's volleyball program. Summary of Responsibilities: -Administration and coaching of the women’s indoor volleyball program. -Oversee and supervise the head beach volleyball coach/assistant indoor volleyball coach. -Assist with the administration and coaching of the women’s beach volleyball program. -Manage the indoor volleyball operating budget responsibly. -Enhance the development of the student-athlete’s indoor volleyball skills and beach volleyball skills through team practice and one-on-one instructions. -Oversee and implement all aspects of the indoor volleyball recruiting process. -Monitor academic progress of the indoor volleyball student-athletes. -Schedule indoor volleyball games and practices. -Plan and organize team travel and game day preparation. -Responsible for the daily court preparation for indoor practices and matches and assist with beach practices and matches. -Coordinate annual indoor court maintenance with the Director of Athletic Facilities. -Supervise work study students. -Promote a favorable image of the College. -Fundraise for the women's indoor volleyball program. -Coordinate indoor volleyball camps. -Committed to College, Department of Athletics, SAC and NCAA rules and regulations. -Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. Master's preferred.
Three to five years of intercollegiate indoor volleyball coaching and recruiting experience. Beach coaching experience preferred.
Thorough understanding of the game and technical aspects in the sport of indoor volleyball and beach volleyball.
