Position Summary The Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator is a part-time position that reports to the Head Baseball Coach. Responsible for the pitching staff and to assist the head coach in all aspects of the program, including: recruit qualified student-athletes; assist in practice sessions and in-game duties; counsel student-athletes in a positive manner; and adhere to all NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations. Specific Responsibilities
Responsible for the pitching staff
Identifying and recruiting quality student athletes in concert with the academic mission of the University.
Assist in developing and maintaining positive team culture and chemistry.
Mentoring and counseling student-athletes.
Assisting in planning and conducting practices.
Assisting in scouting opponents and developing game strategies.
Assisting in travel planning and making travel arrangements
Fundraising and community service activities.
Developing a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport.
Developing and maintaining a thorough and continuing familiarity with all applicable University, Landmark Conference, and NCAA regulations.
Represent the Baseball Program, River Hawk Athletics, and Susquehanna University in a positive and professional manner.
Game day responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics
Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree and a valid driver's license required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of English language including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar. Strong organizational, time management, oral, written, teaching, and computer skills. Detail oriented. Ability to set priorities, advocate team concepts, work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Cooperative attitude, and the ability to get along well and work collaboratively with others. Physical Demand Must possess the physical stamina to effectively coach the sport. Position requires frequent physical exertion including running, walking and jumping. Lifting, pulling, pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Talking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Preferred Qualifications Experience Baseball coaching or playing experience is preferred.
