The position supports the goals and objectives of the athletics program. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach with organization of practices, recruitment, team travel, community service, public relations, scouting, fund raising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the Head Coach and Director of Athletics. This position will comply with Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, GCAA and NJCAA rules and regulations. The Assistant Coach will work cooperatively and responsibly with other ABAC faculty and staff. The position will support the student-athlete concept and will demonstrate concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete. This position will perform additional duties as assigned.
This is a regular part-time, five-month, non-faculty position beginning January 2019. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: assisting the head coach in planning and organizing all phases of a highly competitive NJCAA Division 1 tennis program, recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes and related travel, running the team weight training program, assisting head coach in practice and game preparation, overseeing academic progress, assisting with fundraising and service to the Institution and Community.
* Bachelor’s Degree and College Tennis Playing Experience
* First Aid and CPR Certification Required within a month after hire
* Prior Collegiate Coaching Experience and Familiarity with NJCAA Rules and Regulations Preferred
