Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. Stevens is a member of the Empire 8, NCAA Division III and other single sport or affiliate conferences. The Department of Physical Education, Athletics and Recreation offers 26 varsity sports (13 for men and 13 for women), 14 club sports, a wide variety of intramural sports and special events, an extensive outdoor adventure program and a wide selection of wellness/fitness classes. Located in Hoboken, New Jersey, a historic small town that is just minutes away from Manhattan, Stevens has an enrollment of over 3,100 undergraduate students.
Position (full-time): Assistant Athletic Trainer
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred. BOC and New Jersey state licensure required, along with CPR/AED certification. The successful candidate is expected to complete other trainings and professional development activities as they are offered at the university.
Responsibilities: The top priority must be the overall collegiate experience of the student-athlete and enhancing a positive and healthy culture that encourages growth and development.
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the following responsibilities to include but not limited to: coordination of appropriate medical coverage at all varsity sport practices and events; evaluation and treatment of student-athlete injuries; communicate on a regular basis with strength and conditioning staff to determine the ideal rehabilitation and conditioning methods for student-athletes; supervision of student staff; work closely with team physicians. Regular day, evening and weekend hours are required and some travel is involved with various teams as needed.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
