Member of Creative Services team that focuses on developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy that supports the values, mission and brand of the Purdue University Athletics Department in ways that engage a variety of audiences, including fans, donors, alumni, recruits and campus community members. Coordinate and manage daily content for all main Purdue Athletics social media accounts and social content programs, with content planning focused on generating engagement, growth and revenue. Collaborate with SIDs on individual sport accounts for strategy, prioritization and parameters on posted material. Manage and participate in the Purdue social community, engaging fans, answering questions, providing customer service and serving as the voice for the Boilermakers in this space. Create conversations about Purdue to foster positive attention on the athletics department in both proactive and reactive functions.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
Four years of experience developing and implementing marketing plans, social media or creative services strategies.
Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms.
Excellent creativity and (oral/written) communication skills, including public speaking.
Strong interpersonal, customer service and motivational skills.
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.
Expertise with Microsoft Office.
Must be able to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
Ability to manage projects and deadlines with attention to detail and follow-through.
Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology affecting athletics marketing, promotions and communications processes.
Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Must be able to work flexible schedule; including evenings and weekends as it relates to sporting events.
A valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
Marketing, communications or creative services experience with a college or professional sports team.
Experience with video editing software.
Working knowledge of Purdue University.
Understanding of HTML5 and CSS.
