Whittier College, Whittier, California is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Equipment and Event Manager which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Whittier is an NCAA Division III institution that is a conference member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and has an enrollment of 1650 students and sponsors a total of 22 varsity sports. The Equipment and Event Manager will have responsibility for the overall operation of the Athletic Equipment Room. Duties include formulating and implementing equipment policies and procedures, including ordering, receiving, inventory control, storeroom access and usage, laundry services, maintenance and security. The position will oversee work study students and work with coaches to determine equipment and apparel needs within budget, research innovations, suppliers and upgrades while also coordinating practice calendars for gymnasium hours and participating in all aspects of athletic event logistics. Experience working in an intercollegiate athletics equipment room, working knowledge of ordering applications, databases and NCAA regulations is preferred. Coaching duties could be included but not limited to: Coaching, recruiting, monitoring academic progress for student-athletes, player development, travel and compliance within NCAA, SCIAC and Whittier College rules and regulations.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is highly motivated, takes initiative and wants to gain experience in the field of intercollegiate athletics administration.
