Assist head coach in all aspects of developing and maintaining a competitive intercollegiate sport program within the NCAA and Big Ten Conference.
Instruct and teach student-athletes in fundamentals of sport technique and strategy.
Plan and execute practice and competition plans.
Evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to the University of Minnesota whose athletic skills make them highly competitive in the Big Ten and whose academic abilities make them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from the University of Minnesota.
Perform administrative responsibilities, including assisting in budget planning and management, scheduling of competitions and planning and executing team travel.
Provide opportunities for student-athletes to develop life and leadership skills.
Assist in monitoring the academic performance of student-athletes to help them achieve full potential.
Establish and maintain effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, booster clubs, alumni, club coaches, media and the general public.
Represent in a positive fashion the University and its athletic programs in private and public forums.
Commit to adhering to all rules and regulations of the Department, the University, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA.
Assist in advancing the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan including its commitment to equity and diversity.
Understand what the role of a collegiate coach entails – leading by example; creating a positive environment in which to learn; able to challenge student-athletes in a positive way to enhance development athletically, academically, and socially.
