The University of Missouri is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Athletic Director - Director of Sports Nutrition. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. This position will be responsible for the development and coordination of nutrition services for all student-athletes participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team charged with screening, treatment and prevention of disordered eating and eating disorders. Additional responsibilities of this position will include: conducting individual and team nutrition counseling and education sessions; development of effective, sport-specific nutrition presentations and handout materials for student-athletes; planning and implementation of nutritional recovery process for select teams; testing and evaluation of student-athletes body composition using DXA; resource/consultant to individuals assigned to coordinate and implement pre- and post-competition and travel meals; oversee menu planning for Athletic Dining Hall; maintain ongoing communications with coaching staff, strength and conditioning staff, athletic trainers, team physicians, mental health staff, compliance, dining hall and athletic administration regarding nutritional issues affecting the student-athlete; assist with research, evaluation and recommendation of appropriate nutritional supplements with regards to NCAA rules, regulations and nutrition related governance; develop, manage and oversee nutrition related policies and procedures; actively participate in various intradepartmental committees; oversee ordering, inventory, vendor relationships, procurement of goods and payment of purchases; oversee training and evaluation of sports nutrition staff, including team sports dietician and sport nutrition assistants and interns; develops work schedules and provides program education; perform other administrative duties as assigned. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Health or Exercise Science or a related area (Master's Degree preferred) and will possess strong computer knowledge, communication skills, both verbal and written, excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills and have the ability to lead and work in a multi-disciplinary enviroment. Must possess experience in sports nutrition, exercise physiology and food service; must be a registered Dietician with 3-5 years experience, preferrably in college athletics.
