Manager of Athletics Operations and EventsThe University of AkronAkron, OHThe University of Akron, a Division I (FBS) institution and member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Manager, Athletic Facilities and Operations.Responsibilities:•Manage Athletics operations and University and contracted events, including home games, special events, sports camps, clinics and tournaments at Athletics facilities•Responsible for specific men's and women's sports home game management•Coordinate scheduling of: game and event staffing, set ups and teardowns, crowd control, game referees, visiting teams and compiling game day employee payroll and event budget•Communicate with home game day support units including marketing, ticketing, concessions, maintenance, police, parking and safety•Conduct and assist supervisor with game and event management meetings•Assist with the daily operation of Athletics facilities including opening, monitoring, maintenance inspections and securing field house, stadium, arena and outdoor venues•Manage Athletics team practice and contracted event scheduling including conveying and enforcing building and venue usage policies and procedures•Assist with the development of annual Facilities and Operations revenue and expense budgets•Solicit sources of ancillary income with outside rental events including the processing of legal and insurance documents and developing expense budget for invoicing•Lead and assist with the operation of Athletics sports camps and clinics•Assist and coordinate with other Athletics areas and campus support units to communicate events and needs, offer assistance, solve problems and build positive relationships•Other duties as assigned by supervisor and Associate Athletics DirectorRequired Qualifications:•Bachelor's degree and a minimum two (2) years’ experience in major collegiate athletics game and event coordination•Experience with budgets, accounting, supervision, Microsoft Office and Outlook Calendar•Strong speaking and writing communication skills•Working knowledge of NCAA, MAC and University rules and procedures•Be able to adapt to non-traditional and weekend work days, provide moderate physical effort and adjust to outdoor climate conditionsFor complete details and to apply visit: http://www.uakron.edu/jobsJob ID # 10149Application Deadline: July 9, 2017The University of Akron is an equal education and employment institution.
