The graduate assistant will be responsible for the following areas and duties:COMPLIANCE:- Complete weekly practice logs.- Complete monthly recruiting calendars.- Assist with CIA date entry. RECRUITING: - Coordinate recruiting database mail outs. - Help to coordinate head and assistant coach recruiting schedules. - Assist in off campus recruiting, specifically in the local Central Texas area. - Be present during all on campus recruiting visits. OPERATIONS:- Arrange travel itineraries. - Book hotels. - Coordinate all practice schedules for road trips. - Schedule and plan all meals.- Help to coordinate player’s academic schedules, study hall, etc. - Coordinate player development schedules. Baccalaureate degree, preferably in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or Exercise Science
Ability to gain admission into as SEU graduate program
Background in basketball; preferably at the NCAA level.
Ability to successfully pass NCAA recruiting examination within two months of hire.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
Basic familiarity, appreciation and empathy with the role of intercollegiate athletics and its relationship to the university, and the capacity to articulate that role and interact comfortably with those individuals and constituency groups (student-athletes, alumni, coaches, parents, etc.) crucial to the advancement of athletics at SEU.
Should possess high motivation with a capacity for independent work within the context of an intensely goal-oriented environment.
Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required for selected candidate.
Additional Salary Information: Each graduate assistant will be given the following:- 6 paid credit hours per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer)- Meal Plan per semester (Fall, Spring)
