This position reports to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and is responsible for assisting with the development of strength, speed, and conditioning program for all club sports. The intern will interact and correspond with assigned Head Coaches about the programs designed for their teams. Start date will be August 2017 and is a 10 month position.• Oversee direct responsibility of the Strength and Conditioning program for Club Sports• Develop overall strength and conditioning for the University, including: training programs, strength programs, injury management, educational programs and counseling for student-athletes• Assist with scheduling sessions with the club sport during the week. • Oversight of the entire Strength and Conditioning building during hours of operation when Club Sports are using the facility. • Work in conjunction with the Athletic Training staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs• Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the strength and conditioning program. • Coordinate with Director of Club Sports with any budgetary items, travel plans, roster changes, etc.• Oversee all aspects of Strength and Conditioning for varsity sports assigned• Assisting other members of Bryant Universities Strength and Conditioning staff with team lifts and conditioning sessions assigned.• Assist with all aspects of running the Strength and Conditioning Center (including maintenance of equipment, set up and breakdown, organization and management of teams)• Additional duties as assigned by the Club Sports Director• Represent Bryant University, the Department of Athletics and Recreation in a professional and ethical manner. This position is filled best by an individual with a Bachelors Degree with a Master’s preferred in a related field. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with student athletes, athletics staff, and others. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise others are important. Travel is required, as are evening and weekend hours. A driver’s license and NSCA (CSCS) or (CSCCA) or equivalent certification are required.
Additional Salary Information: $10,000. – Ten month position beginning August, 2017
