The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an assistant women’s rowing coach. This is a full-time position and includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is a NCAA Division I Power Five institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 24 varsity sports programs and operates under a “Win. Graduate. Do It Right.” philosophy. The successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the management and coaching of a Division I rowing program. Assist with coordination of business operations, both on and off-campus recruiting, summer camps and all other areas of the program as assigned by the head coach. Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) is required.
A minimum of three years of rowing coaching experience at the intercollegiate, club, or high school level
Excellent knowledge of the techniques and strategies of rowing as demonstrated by competitive experience at the collegiate or club level
Working knowledge of and ability to:
work constructively and collaboratively with individuals of diverse backgrounds;
utilize basic office productivity software and online database systems such as Microsoft Office/Office 365 (please specify).
Excellent oral and written communication skills, as demonstrated through clinician experience, and use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques.
Three or more years of Division I rowing coaching experience highly preferred.
Successful competitive experience at the elite NCAA Division I level
Experience in stewarding rowing athlete development from novice to collegiate varsity/high performance
Experience in the development and implementation of athlete recruitment strategies
Demonstrates extensive proficiency and ability to develop and manage social media
