Job SummaryPosition will assist the Head Coach Track coach as requested in recruiting, training, and coaching members of the team, and assist the SRC supervisor with day-to-day operations, management and maintenance of 50,000 square foot multipurpose sports and recreation center.ResponsibilitiesAssistant Men’s and Women’s Track Coach:-Assist the Head Coach in overseeing practice planning and implementation including organizing and scripting a practice plan, utilizing staff and sessions, and scheduling in season weight room and conditioning sessions.-Assist the Head Coach in overseeing competition events by developing meet strategy and establishing a focused approach for excellence in competition.-Assist the Head Coach in recruiting student athletes who are a good fit to the institution and have the capacity for high caliber play within the NCAA DIII arena and maintain expected roster sizes. Mentor and nurture the development of admitted athletes in all areas of their growth.-Work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and Marketing to get stories and content management on the Athletics website for men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track.-Foster and engage in harmonious departmental relationships and responsibly adhere to NCAA, MIAC and institutional rules, policy and expectations.SRC Assistant Supervisor:-Provide supervision of the SRC for (selected) Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays when rental groups are occupying the building or there are scheduled Bethel events. This includes selected times on weekends where supervision will be required due to a high volume of use.-Lead the set up teams for rental events, BU contests and special events, whenever they occur during the week. -Assist in the placement of equipment for proper function and safety in SRC events. -Coordinate the set-up of the SRC on all home football Saturdays. Work under the direction of the SRC Supervisor to assist with football game day event management.-Supervise Student Workers in June, July, and August on setting up summer sports camps work schedule. Hours vary between day and evening based on summer camp schedule. -Coordinate the June, July, August “work projects” schedule for SRC/Orth work crew. Work alongside the work crew and assist in task completion.-Engage in the training necessary to become fully in-serviced in the function and maintenance of the tenant floor cleaning machine. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in track. Demonstrated knowledge of and use of athletic facilities. Playing and coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
