The Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach-Men’s Golf. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Athletic Director.The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to provide opportunity to young people and develop leaders through a tradition of academic and athletic achievement in a progressive, inclusive environment of mutual respect.The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach in the organization, administration and promotion of all aspects of the Oregon State Men’s Golf Program. Coaching includes instruction, academic supervision of the athletes, program management for the specific area assigned and preparation of recommendations to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics. Adheres to the policies set forth by direct supervisors, Head Coach and Athletic Director, as well as Oregon State University, the PAC-12 Conference and The National Collegiate Athletic Association.
Bachelors degree in field of choice.
NCAA Division I Collegiate coaching experience.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OAR 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OAR 125-155-0200) as per OAR 576-056-0000 et seq.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop.
Experience managing social media channels to bridge Men’s Golf with recruits, fans, donors and alumni.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
