Position Summary: The graduate assistant coach for softball will be responsible for all aspects of the softball program under the direction of the Head Coach, such as monitoring academic progress, assist with recruiting, training of squad members, and fundraising. The graduate assistant coach of the women’s softball program is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by the University of Charleston, the Mountain East Conference (MEC) and the NCAA. This is a part-time, twelve-month position. UC is a member of the NCAA at the Division II level. Responsibilities Assist the head coach with the recruitment of student-athletes for the members that will make up the softball program.Assist with the physical training and development of all softball players.Assist the head coach with generating additional funds for support of the program. Assist with the development of and the scheduling of practice sessions. Baccalaureate degree is required.
Previous coaching experience is required, and preference will be given to those with college playing and/or coaching experience working with pitchers.
Candidates should possess good organizational, interpersonal communication and good computer skills.
