NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCYUniversity of IllinoisDivision of Intercollegiate AthleticsPOSITION: Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, Football 12 Month, 100% Academic Professional Appointment PRIMARY POSITION FUNCTION/SUMMARY: Assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in developing and implementing individualized conditioning programs for student-athletes in the football program. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assistant the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in the following:1.Develop and implement individualized conditioning programs for student-athletes in the football program.2.Physical Screening/Assessment of individual student athletes in the Football program, and implement customized, corrective exercises.3.Assess individual student athletes and address any identified mobility limitations4.Assisting in managing, supervising and controlling the operation of the Football weight room.5.Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, including weight machines and other strength and conditioning equipment, including regular inspection, recommendation on repair/replacement as necessary.6.Assist in dietary needs of student-athletes; work compatibly and cooperatively with other staff and personnel in all other sport.7.Work compatibly and cooperatively with other strength & conditioning staff, team coaches, student-athletes and personnel in the Football program.8.Includes working evenings and weekends.9.Maintain knowledge of and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference and institution rules. Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in sports management, kinesiology, recreation or related field required
Preferred: Master’s degree.
Experience: Required: Minimum one year of strength and conditioning experience N.S.C.A, or C.S.C.C.A certification. Demonstrated personal relations skills in dealing with student-athletes, peers, staff and administrative personnel.
Preferred: Experience at the collegiate and/or professional level. Background in nutrition. Experience in working with football programs. Experience in team building and leadership development
