| This person will be responsible to assist the head coach in implementing the program’s plans for the direction and development of a nationally competitive Division I Women’s Golf program at Kennesaw State University. The individual will perform a variety of functions, assigned by the head coach. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coaching, budget management, recruiting, purchasing equipment and uniforms, scheduling practices, public relations and fundraising. |
Other expectation and responsibilities of the assistant coach include:
o Support the implementation of plans and programs which will achieve appropriate and necessary academic progress, retention and timely graduation of each student-athlete on the roster. o As assigned by the head coach, he/she will take on leadership or support roles in department-wide priorities and initiatives. o As assigned by the head coach, he/she will organize, supervise, coordinate and employ sound coaching techniques and practices. o Participate in university and Department of Athletics events as required. o Possess a thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, conference, State of Georgia and university policies, rules and regulations. o Under the direction of the head coach, he/she will be asked to prepare student-athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally to compete for Conference Championships and post-season competition. o Work to support the program’s plan to create an atmosphere favorable to the ethical, academic and athletic development of student-athletes. o Performance of additional duties as assigned by the head coach, Program Administrator or Director of Athletics.
This person must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have strong organizational skills. Must have the ability to serve as a spokesperson for the intercollegiate women’s golf program and the ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with student-athletes, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and the general public.
