| The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) is accepting applications for the position of Associate Athletics Director (or Assistant AD, depending on experience) for External Operations (R97513) for the Department of Athletics. The Associate AD is a twelve-month position and will be responsible for the successful execution in planning, developing and administering all aspects of the external functions of the department including: ticket operation, development/fundraising, marketing and promotions, student and campus engagement and volunteer boards. The incumbent will serve as a key person on the department’s senior staff reporting directly to and working closely with the Director of Athletics. All duties and responsibilities are governed by state, federal and university policy. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: ticket sales and ticketing operations, box office, development and fundraising including SpectacUALR, student and campus engagement, alumni and Lettermen’s Association. In conjunction with a team of individuals, this position will develop, implement and manage a comprehensive sales, marketing and promotions program for season ticket sales, group sales and individual game sales for all sports with an emphasis on basketball. The Associate AD for External Operations will assist in managing volunteer boards such as the SpectacUALR Committee, Trojan Advisory Council and Lettermen’s Association. This person will be expected to effectively lead a team to meet budgeted ticket sales, fundraising and other revenue projections on an annual basis; serve as a liaison to Athletics Booster Clubs, Little Rock Trojan Sports Properties, LLC (Learfield) and the UA Little Rock Office of Advancement; engage and represent the Athletic Department at community events. This is a twelve-month position with a salary that is competitive and commensurate with experience. |
The successful candidate should have an understanding and working knowledge of NCAA Division I, Sun Belt Conference and University rules; ability to work numerous nights and weekends; and the ability to interact in a professional manner with people and present a positive image of the University.
Required Qualifications: An earned bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of two years business to business sales, marketing or fundraising experience is required, preferably at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience on a college campus.
