Description: The Big Ten Conference is seeking candidates for an immediate start in the position of Video Services Intern. The Video Intern’s primary function is to support the Conference’s football, basketball, and hockey officiating programs (and league’s officiating consortium's). This includes, capturing, editing, and managing game video for officiating clinics, coach’s questions, and evaluation of officials. In addition, conducting research projects for Coordinator of Football Officials, Associate Commissioner of Men’s Basketball, and Coordinator of Hockey Officials. This position is not affiliated with Big Ten Network operations nor does it involve producing of television shows or content.
Responsibilities: • Preparing coaches video and television broadcast clips for officiating evaluation purposes and coaches questions. • Organizing weekly Downgrade Reports, Observer Reports, Instant Replay Reports, Foul Reports, etc. • Compiling material utilized for weekly training tapes for officials • Compiling material for off-season officiating clinics • Individual Basketball Game Video Breakdowns • Conducting TV Network Timeout Research and Game Length Statistics • Managing and cataloging all televised Big Ten Sporting Events • Assist in managing and operating Big Ten Video Command Center • Assist in managing and operating Big Ten Football Championship Game • Assist in organizing and conducting Big Ten Basketball Tournaments & NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament • Assist in updating visual content for the Big Ten Experience / Museum • Other duties as needed
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience with both post-production software (Adobe Creative Suite, Avid, etc.) and athletically-related video editing software required (DVSport or XOS). Experience with XOS Thunder platform preferred. Must have strong understanding of other computer software including Microsoft Office.
Position requires excellent written communications skills and ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines. Must be able to work variable schedules during the football, basketball, and hockey seasons (weekend hours required).
