The Certified Athletic Trainer Intern will be responsible for:
Assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Training Room.
Assisting in the organization, management, and administration of all aspects of the Athletic Training Program.
Providing supervision, injury care, and rehabilitation for seventeen men's and women's sports. Sport assignments to be determined at time of hiring.
The Certified Athletic Trainer Intern must possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills along with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The intern must be flexible, creative and resourceful with a strong commitment to customer service.
Additionally, the Certified Athletic Trainer Intern must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with a strong sense of principles and ethics in regard to the welfare of the student-athletes.
Candidates must have:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred)
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Eligible for the Virginia Athletic Trainer Licensure
Valid Driver’s License
The successful candidate must be willing and able to work irregular hours and weekends and have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence. The ability to drive university vehicles is a condition of employment. As such, a positive driving record is required. The selected candidate must consent to and pass a criminal background check.
