The Harvard University Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for one (1) 8-10 month internship in Athletic Marketing and Promotions ($11/hr). You will work closely with the Associate Athletic Director of Sales and Marketing and the Marketing Manager. Responsibilities include: assisting in the development and implementation of marketing plans; creating and executing promotions for all 42 Varsity programs, especially concentrated on football, men’s and women’s hockey, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse; increasing attendance through group sales initiatives; and managing youth team programs. You will also update marketing content on the website and assist with game-day planning, writing scripts, set up/ breakdown of promotions, distribution of marketing collateral throughout the University and in the Boston area; fulfilling sponsorship commitments, building community relations, and growing the marketing database. You will also work with various student groups to enhance the game day experience for our Varsity sports programs. Other responsibilities include overseeing the Crimson Kids Club, supervising student assistants, and soliciting group ticket sales and program advertising sales.
You should be a highly motivated person and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in promotions, marketing, and event management is highly beneficial. Proficiency in Adobe Indesign and Adobe Photoshop and familiarity with multimedia technology is preferred.

Specific start and end dates are flexible, but the anticipated start date is August 2017 with an end date sometime between April and June 2018.
