This 23-month position offers an individual a prominent post-graduate experience to launch a career in collegiate athletics. The fellow will gain broad experiences in video and broadcast coordination, communications and championships while working alongside senior league staff. The fellow will have the opportunity to lead key tasks and projects while being part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
The fellow reports and works in collaboration with to the Assistant Commissioner of Communications and Associate Commissioner of Competition. Areas of responsibility include the following:
Lead the creation and strategic deployment of all Horizon League video content on a variety of mediums (e.g., website, social media).
Work with Deputy Commissioner as a key contact with campus producers/streaming coordinators for ESPN3 productions.
Serve as a key member of the external relations team to further develop the league’s multimedia strategy.
Develop promotional and marketing concepts for the league, its championships and other events, as assigned.
Produce, maintain and distribute the conference’s video inventory, including but not limited to, features, highlight packages, promotions, championship recaps and special projects.
Create strategic plans for content production and distribution for all Horizon League championships.
Assist with assessment of Horizon League’s multimedia distribution model to enhance the conference’s brand and exposure.
Collaborate with the Assistant Commissioner of Communication and Assistant Director of Communications on integration of video content in all media efforts.
Develop and implement quality control efforts of campus broadcasts.
Other duties as assigned.
Serve as primary communications contact for assigned League sports.
Support the assistant commissioner and assistant director of communications in championship coverage as needed.
Provide operational and communications support for assigned championships.

Required Candidate Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Experience in video production and editing is essential.
Relevant experience in college sports communications preferred.
In-depth knowledge of linear and streaming game productions, the associated tasks and functions.
Advanced knowledge of video editing software.
Advanced knowledge of computer software applications and programs, including but not limited to: Adobe CC, StatCrew, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities in fast-paced environment.
Advanced video graphics creation and development.
Collaborative leadership skills and the ability to work well with a variety of constituent groups (SIDs, athletic directors, athletic department staffs, members of the media, coaches, NCAA staff, etc.).
Experience and willingness to educate staff about the basics of video production and editing.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to brand platform and messaging strategy,
