The Southern Conference, an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference in Spartanburg, South Carolina, will offer one full time paid internship for the position of championships assistant. This internship will be for at least one academic year (July 2017 through June 2018) with the possibility of a one year extension. Candidates must have the ability to work within the framework of Southern Conference and NCAA regulations. The individual chosen will have duties as assigned by the Director of Championships.
The anticipated start date is August 1, 2017 or sooner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary liaison in the conference office for the production of awards and trophies. Assist with merchandise sold at championship events. • Provide on-site and/or external support for all championships. • Collaborate with the Director of Championships on other special events and administrative meetings. • Facilitate correspondence with selected local sport and tournament committees. • Assist in the production of championship handbooks and tournament manuals. • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Championships and the Commissioner.
