Goucher College, named one of the top 10 most innovative colleges in the country by U.S. News & World Report, seeks a graduate assistant to work in conjunction with the head women’s volleyball coach. Responsibilities include effectively recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes and assisting with all aspects of coaching, planning, and day-to-day operations of the volleyball program including: individual player evaluation and development, team training, scouting, coordinating the film exchange program, statistical input and analysis, alumnae relations, fundraising, community service, and all aspects of recruiting.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree, with at least an overall 3.0 undergraduate GPA to be considered for admission to GPE, and at least two years of driving experience on a state-issued license. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated success in playing or coaching at the college level. This two-year position includes full tuition remission and a competitive stipend. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.
This position, beginning August 2017, is approximately 20 hours per week in addition to weekend and evening work and travel. Applicant must be willing to work with various departments on campus and perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
