Mount Aloysius College is searching for qualified candidates for a part-time Graduate Assistant in the department of Athletics for Women’s Soccer from August 21, 2017 to May 1, 2018.
The Graduate Assistant will have the opportunity to learn and perform duties related to soccer program operations including but not limited to: assisting the head coach at practices, scrimmages and matches; opponent scouting, film breakdown, stats and record keeping; recruitment of future players; supporting the academic success of student athletes; and assisting with team community service projects.
Supervises players during practices and games; assumes leadership role in the absence of the head coach. Evaluates MAC and opposition team capabilities to determine game strategy; provides instruction of playing techniques.
GA is responsible to perform up to 25 hours of service per week during the semester for a total of 300 hours per semester. Position provides 100% tuition credit for a combined total of up to eighteen (18) credits for 17-18 academic year. A modest monetary stipend is also awarded.
In order to be eligible for a Graduate Assistant position, the applicant must be a current or prospective graduate student at Mount Aloysius College. Enrollment in one of the College’s master’s degree programs is required.
Minimum of one (1) year coaching experience as an assistant coach or high school head coach required or equivalent combination of coaching and playing experience. Knowledge of NCAA Division III and AMCC rules and regulations strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills also required.
