The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swim Coach will assist the Head Coach in recruiting for a new men’s program and existing women’s program, assist in all aspects of managing and coaching the swim team, and in managing the aquatics facility. Coaching responsibilities may include recruiting, practice organization, individual skill instruction, scheduling, travel planning, assisting in fundraising activities, assisting in camps/clinics, attending University events, compliance with all Departmental, College, ODAC and NCAA policies, and providing supervision and mentoring to student-athletes. Aquatics facilities duties may include scheduling events, scheduling and managing student lifeguards, development and implementation of sound safety and risk management procedures, and working in conjunction with campus facilities department on water quality and pool maintenance issues. Other administrative duties or teaching may be assigned. Position is a full-time, 10-month appointment and includes benefits.
Prior successful coaching experience and competitive collegiate swimming experience is desired, preferably at the NCAA Division III level. Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required. Candidates with previous experience in aquatics facility management, Certified Pool Operator certification or with certification to train lifeguards may be given preference. Candidates should have an acceptable driving record and NCAA compliance history, and will be required to undergo a background check.
