James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association is seeking a Compliance Graduate Assistant. A full tuition waiver is available for the 2017-2018 academic year to include up to 18 graduate credits. An assistantship stipend will also be provided. Assistantship dates are 9 months, approximately from August 1, 2017 to May 4, 2018 and may be renewed for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Duties include but are not limited to monitoring recruiting activities and playing and practice seasons using ACS; assisting with distribution of required paperwork for prospective and current student-athletes; maintaining accurate rosters for 18 sports and accurate NCAA squad lists and creating rules education materials; assisting with rules education program; updating the compliance manuals; coordinating staff meeting agendas and performing other duties as assigned.
A bachelor's degree is required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous NCAA compliance experience and/or experience using the ACS Athletics software, Compliance Assistant, RSRO, or LSDBi. Successful candidates should possess strong organizational, communication and analytical skills. Candidates must meet university qualifications for enrollment to graduate school.
