Nevada Wolf Pack Athletics is recruiting for an Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Medicine. Under the direction of the Head Team Physician, this position supervises and coordinates the Sports Medicine staff in performing their duties. The position provides education, counseling and guidance for athletes in regard to their conditions and consultation with health care providers regarding injuries. The position maintains and documents all referrals, provides insurance paperwork to medical providers and to Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) administration, authorizes medical visits, and coordinates all insurance concerns with ICA administration. The position is responsible for the operation of the University’s main and satellite athletic training facilities and supervises and evaluates the Associate Director and Assistant Directors.
The University of Nevada, Reno, has a student body of approximately 21,000. Nevada is a member of the Mountain West Conference and sponsors 16 intercollegiate sports featuring more than 400 student-athletes. The University is situated in Reno, a metropolitan area of 350,000, on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The city is conveniently located 38 miles from Lake Tahoe, a world-class skiing area with limitless summer and winter recreational opportunities. Sacramento and San Francisco are, respectively, two and four hour drives away.
Bachelor’s Degree and four years, or Master’s Degree and two years, of experience managing or assisting with management of athletic training facilities at the Division I level with Men’s or Women’s sports programs.
• Certification by National Athletic Trainers Association as administered by the NATA Board of Certification (NATABOC) • First aid and CPR Certification • Maintain continuing education units as required by the NATABOC • Must be licensed in the State of Nevada within a reasonable timeframe
