The Business Assistant coordinates day to day business functions of the department to include purchases, expense reports, record keeping, reconciling corporate credit card, and work-study payroll. The Assistant helps in maintaining ledger accounts for all revenue and expenses related to the Athletic Department and Sports Center and the auxiliary enterprises generated from both to provide an accurate accounting of all money. This position helps prepare athletic grant-in-aids for the Athletic scholarship program, monitors the Athletic book distribution and collection for full and partial scholarship students and tracks student account balances to make sure awards are administered correctly. The Assistant coordinates team travel arrangement for all varsity sports and coaching recruiting trips. The incumbent updates the department Business and Travel Guide, and also assist and provide administrative support for the department.
A Bachelor's degree is required.
At least 2 years of relevant experience
Must be able to juggle many tasks simultaneously
Computer literacy and bookkeeping skills
Must have experience working on word processing and spreadsheet programs, and accounting
Knowledge of University policies and procedures
