The University of the Incarnate Word, a Division I member of the Southland Conference invites applications for the position of Assistant Softball Coach for Pitching. The Assistant Softball Coach will serve in all phases of a competitive softball program in accordance with the NCAA, Southland Conference, and University of the Incarnate Word policies and procedures, and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Recruit, coach and teach highly talented student-athletes. Must have good communication skills necessary to direct recruiting efforts through fall and spring signing periods. Adhere to all policies, rules and regulations of the University, the Southland Conference and the NCAA. A proven record in following directives and being responsible for tasks which have been assigned. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment as needed. Budgeting and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints. Establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Communicate effectively – orally, by phone, in person, via social media and in writing. Respond to emergency situations in a timely manner. Demonstrate the ability to market and promote UIW softball. Be willing to work various hours including weekends, evenings and some Holidays. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
