ROLE of the POSITION
This position exists to provide assistance to the Head, Associate Head, and Assistant Coaches on a daily basis to help promote UNLV Women's Basketball and the University as a whole and to ensure the coaches can do their jobs at the highest level.
The Special Assistant will provide leadership and organization to the coaching staff and aid with the development of student-athletes while supporting the women's basketball core values and the athletic department mission and vision. This position will work closely with the strength and conditioning coach regarding scheduling and nutrition. Additionally this position will oversee the WBB Nutrition Zone and work closely to augment and enhance the team's needs with the department nutritionist.
The Special Assistant will work closely with the Associate Head Coach to implement and maintain a recruiting mailing system, along with help coordinate campus visits and tours. The Special Assistant will work closely with the Director of Basketball Operations to implement a community service and outreach plan, in addition to helping market and promote women's basketball home games to the local fan base. This position is responsible for maintaining a balance of loyalty and team building in order to continue to develop a positive environment for the student-athletes, community, and the University.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years related professional experience. In addition, applicants should possess knowledge and experience with social media in relation to recruiting purposes.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
