Siena College, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking applications for a 10-month, full time fitness coordinator/assistant strength and conditioning coach. As fitness coordinator, the individual will be expected to develop and implement fitness programs for the student body and to oversee the college’s general fitness center. Additionally, the individual will lend assistant to the strength and conditioning coach by providing training for selected NCAA division I sports teams.
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to planning and organizing fitness classes, conducting group training sessions to teach the techniques of different training methods; recruiting and managing student workers to assist in the implementing the fitness program and maintaining the general fitness area. In addition, the individual will work with selected Division I teams in the design and implantation of strength and conditioning programs.
Qualifications include in a minimum of a bachelor's degree required. Excellent knowledge of the techniques of sport fitness and strength and conditioning. A background screening will be required. Certification by the NSCA (CSCS) or the CSCCa (SCCC) or another appropriately certified agency. First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification is required. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment. A background screening will be required.
