The Director, Video Content will help direct video content for one of the most iconic brands in collegiate athletics, with a special emphasis on UM’s nationally ranked football program. This position will be the department’s chief videographer on the content side -- engaging, exciting, and inspiring our fan base to consume and share a steady diet of compelling content across various platforms, from staged video shoots, live game action, and features to highlights, sizzle reels, and commercial spots. The Director of Video Content will also work closely with members of the communications, digital, and video staff to help drive the creative vision for the athletic department and ensure that vision aligns with the department’s ongoing brand strategy.
Work Experience Requirements: • 5-7 years of escalating shooting and editing experience with a collegiate athletic department, sports team, agency, or consumer brand. • Online portfolio/reel that demonstrates expertise in shooting and editing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Strong attention to detail • Ability to work under time constraints and meet assigned deadlines • Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from other team members • Exceptional communication skills • Experience with Adobe Creative suite or similar non-linear editing software • Experience with production workflow systems • Ability to work nights and weekends and travel with certain teams
