The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for an Assistant Director of Athletic Development. This position will provide support for the Office of Development and Athletic Development; assist with special fundraising projects and activities; serve as a direct contact with donors and prospective donors for athletic development and the College in general; manage incoming calls; and greet and assist internal and external constituents. This position will also develop and manage a pool of donors; identifying, cultivating and stewarding them for gifts to athletics and the College in general; solicit businesses for athletic sponsorships through the CAVS Athletic Partners Program; provide administrative support to the athletic booster club for meetings, announcements, mailings and assisting the group with fundraising efforts; and assist with organizing and overseeing the annual Carroll Dale Invitational Golf Tournament. Additionally, the position will be responsible for processing revenues and disbursements for Foundation accounts; drafting correspondence and reports; drafting fundraising appeals for various projects, such as individual athletic team appeals; assist the Office of Athletics and the Budget Office with NCAA reporting data as needed; and assist with development efforts to engage students and young alumni to increase the number of alumni donors.
A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required, as well as outstanding customer service skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills; the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently; the ability to work independently; and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
