Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine - Athletic Training, Sports Medicine - Strength & Conditioning
Assist and help develop athletic performance research and testing initiatives for the Nebraska Athletic Performance Lab (NAPL). Collaborate with Athletic Department staff, particularly Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Medicine, Sports Psychology, Sports Analytics and Sports Nutrition, to improve student-athlete wellness and performance outcomes. Work with sports programs and coaches to develop projects that will enhance individual and team athletic performance. Create and foster internal and external collaboration to drive innovation for all things performance research related.
Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Neuroscience, or related field; plus Three (3) years’ experience working at a NCAA institution, professional sports organization, and/or other elite sporting institutions (e.g. USOC, etc.) on athletic performance initiatives. Experience collaborating with athletic department or professional sports team staff in multiple performance areas (e.g., strength and conditioning, sports psychology, athletic medicine, sports nutrition) on athletic performance initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred qualifications: Ideal candidate will have experience supervising staff that are conducting athletic performance testing and/or research. Applicants will have research papers published in peer reviewed journals. Will have presented at the national or international level. Experience in the development and growth of athletic testing programs. Ability to code in R or Python. Criminal history background check will be conducted.
