Primary Position Function/Summary: Guide and cultivate the visual identity and creative campaigns that promote the strategic direction for Fighting Illini Athletics across all print and digital platforms.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Collaborate with Creative Services staff to create, analyze and implement the strategic direction for creative and graphic design elements of DIA which includes, but is not limited to, serving as part of the committee that outlines annual branding and marketing campaigns 2.Effectively promote athletics programs through the management of brand standards and creative plan implementation 3.Produce and direct photoshoots of athletic teams, games and other special events 4.Create and produce content for social, digital, and traditional mediums in order to effectively display the Fighting Illini brand for recruiting, marketing, and athletic development efforts 5.Market and promote the DIA both in-person and digitally at athletic contests and programs, 6.Responsible for the development, design, and implementation of graphic design efforts for individual sport assignments and the DIA 7.Analyze, create, produce and execute environmental branding assignments within all athletics facilities when applicable 8.Collaborate as a part of the design team as well as partners across all sports and departments, with the goal of elevating and carrying the visual brand through to all forms of communication, including digital/social design needs 9.Provide creative and marketing support to programs and staff members when necessary 10.Maintain knowledge of and compliance with specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required.

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
Experience Required: -3+ years professional design experience -Experience in the full Adobe Creative Suite -Demonstrated knowledge of color theory, typography and branding -Excellent communication and computer skills -Ability to perform detail-oriented yet creative work
Preferred: -Experience with photography and post-production (Lightroom, PhotoMechanic, PhotoShelter) -Experience with animations in Adobe AfterEffects -Mac platform knowledge -Knowledge of NCAA Division I athletics is important.
Knowledge and Skills Required: -Strong knowledge of the print process, layout and the ability to work in many styles -Must work well in a collaborative, team environment -A broad understanding and passion for innovative design - preferably within athletics. -Able to work under pressure and handle multiple projects at one time.
Preferred: -An innovative storyteller using any effective forms of communication -Knowledge of and passion for collegiate athletics
