The Assistant Softball Coach is helps the Head Softball Coach to provide leadership, organization and administration of the Softball program. This is a part-time position.
Assists the Head Softball Coach in all aspects of the softball program including, recruitment, retention, academic support, practice preparation, game strategy and coaching, alumni development, fundraising and community service
Assists in the recruitment of student athletes who meet the college's admissions requirements.
Attends mandatory attendance at all Admission open houses and scheduled orientations
Ensures compliance with all College, Skyline Conference and NCAA rules and regulations related to recruiting and academic monitoring for student-athletes
When requested, collaborates with the Sports Information Director for the positive promotion of the softball program. Areas included should be individual and team statistics, media guides, reports to NCAA, Skyline Conference, individual accolades on and off the field and website updates
Ensures department and college regulations are understood by and complied with by student athletes.
Assists the Head Softball Coach in any fundraising activities that will directly impact the softball program or the athletic department in general
When requested by the Head Softball Coach, represents the college at athletics meetings pertaining to softball; including Skyline Conference meetings and coaches convention
Assist with one (1) or two (2) community outreach projects for the promotion of CMSV athletics
Assists in the distribution and collection of all equipment
Displays a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct as per the NCAA Constitution
Assists in the supervision of the team manager
Knowledge of NCAA, conference and College rules and regulations
Previous successful fastpitch softball coaching and/or playing experience on the College or High School level.
Ability to work effectively with all College personnel, students, and the community
Evening and weekend hours essential
Must have a valid driver's license
